This seems to be a Chromium change that we have inherited. Anyway, I have taken this as an item in our backlog and we would be keeping a close watch on this. Yes but what that means? I wouldn't call it interfering. The new Edge is built on top of Chromium so in essence, it inherits lots of its highs and lows as well.
